Thailand December YOTA Month 2022 Report

To support December YOTA Month in 2022, the Youngsters on the Air (YOTA) team in Thailand, organize a variety of activities to engage young people in amateur radio. Here are some activities:

  1. Host special event stations: This is our first time to setting up a formal YOTA month special call sign, E2YOTA during December YOTA Month, to give young people the opportunity to make contact with other amateur radio operators around the world.

  2. Conduct a youth contest: We organize a 3rd round YOTA contest during December YOTA Month to encourage young people to participate in amateur radio. The contest can have different categories based on age, level of experience, or type of equipment used.

  3. Offer training and workshops: We organize training sessions and workshops to teach young people about various aspects of amateur radio, such as operating procedures, equipment setup, and basic electronics. These sessions can be held in person or online.

  4. Collaborate with schools and youth organizations: We reach out to schools and youth organizations such as the National Scout Organization of Thailand to promote amateur radio and December YOTA Month. They can offer presentations, and demonstrations, or even set up temporary stations at schools or youth events.

Don’t overlook the younger ones around us: We create a campaign to motivate active amateur radio to invite their children, grandchildren even the younger ones around them to learn about amateur radio and get on the air by using their resources. Because we think it is fast and easier to invite this group of younger to become a new generation of amateur radio. The pictures above are some of an amateur radio’s children to join this campaign.

  1. Create a social media campaign: We create a social media campaign to promote December YOTA Month and amateur radio to young people in Thailand. This can include sharing pictures and stories from events and activities, as well as sharing educational content about amateur radio.

These are just a few things to support December YOTA Month in 2022. The most important thing is to engage young people and inspire them to get involved in amateur radio. With creativity and passion, the Youngsters on the Air (YOTA) team make December YOTA Month a fun and memorable experience for young people in Thailand.
